I'm in no way an expert ITS (Improvisation Tribal Style) belly dancer, but they have a rule that if you see a 'hole' in the group formation, it's your responsibility to fix it. Let's take this one step further. Have you heard the quote below by William Arthur Ward?
Lately I have been toying with the idea that if you can dream it, it's your responsibility to create it. That being said we may come into conflict with a few things:
1. YOU have to take responsibility for your own dream.
The "issue" here, is you have to be willing to put in the work. Just because you can dream it, doesn't mean it's going to just magically happen. I can make all the vision boards in the world, but if I don't go out and do some marketing no one will no about my dance studio/event/etc.
Putting your plan out to the universe is great. However, if you stop there so does your dream. You need to put the work in and set up the action steps that will move you closer to your goal. Otherwise it will only ever be a dream.
2. You are the right person for the job.
Another biggie. We all have tough self-love, self-worth, self confidence/etc. days, but it's important to remember that we ARE worthy. We are enough. YOU can make that dream come true. If you can imagine it, you have everything you need to create it.
Taking this back to my own personal experience... In December I started to plan my first mini Wellness Retreat day for my dance/yoga studio. At this point, I had only been a yoga teacher for about 6 months. Who did I think I am that I can host and lead a wellness retreat?! Sure, I had days where that statement seemed soooo true. However, instead of choosing to follow that fear voice I kept planning.
On January 14th I hosted the Zennergy Studios "Live Well, Be Well" Mini Retreat. I had more people than I hoped for, even with a few last minute cancellations. Everyone told me how excited they were that they had something like this so close to home. Had I listened to fear, none of it would have happened. Fast forward, here we are in June and I'm planning a second mini retreat day.
Creation starts with one person and an idea. You have the ability to create anything you can dream of; you just have to make it happen.
