In just a few days I will be turning thirty and I can't be more excited. <3 I am at a point in my life that I truly believe is the precipice of awesome-ness.
This past year has had a lot of big changes and opportunities for growth. I really feel as though those will continue for the rest of this calendar year and I'm going to start kicking some major goal-booty (totally a technical term) in the next few months.
There is this magical place where tribal fusion belly dancers and drummers meet by a lake for smores--even gluten free & vegan!--to dance with poi, fire or just to the beat of a drum.
I was lucky enough to spend an entire weekend at Super Fun Dance Camp near Cold Spring, NY this past weekend. This was the second year of SFDC, but is a bit behind it's cousin NEATS (North East American Tribal Style) Camp which has been going on for four years now. MiMi of Manhattan Tribal and Carmine are our camp counselors with Lake Surprise Camp as the destination to be at. Oh my, isn't it beautiful.
Part of my search for being an empowered female super star has led me to taking some Burlesque classes and workshops. I have been a fan of Ithaca's Whiskey Tango Side Show for several years and now they've created the Empire Burlesque Festival! Boy, do these fancy ladies put on a fun show!
As you may or may not know, I attended the first ever Mega Massive this year in fabulous Las Vegas! It was also my first trip to Vegas. I figured we could start with the non-dance reviews first and share my belly dance post a little later. <3
Lucky for me, my husband, Eric was able to join me for the trip. We got in late on Saturday so I had a few days to be a tourist before my classes started on Wednesday morning. We were staying at The Golden Nugget Hotel right off of Fremont Street in what they call "Old Vegas", about a 20 minute trip from the air port and the bottom of "The Strip".
