On April 28th, I'm working with live, local, metal band Goner to teach a Metal Yoga class.
Some yogis have asked me, why?
My answer, Why the heck not?!
We are all unique. We all find joy in different things. We all have different quirks, talents, strengths and weaknesses.
In a world of Instagram yogis doing poses on the side of a cliff with a wave crashing in the background while new age music plays softly, why can't we have have the reverse? Why can't we have a goth metal dude kicking some @$$ in a warrior pose in the mud with graffiti on the wall behind him?
What makes you ZENN could very well be different from what another person finds ZENN.
I'm also a BIG believer in whatever gets someone to the mat!
If playing live metal music works for someone and they can rock out some asana with me; GREAT! If smooth jazz is your thing; Great! Chanting Kirtans; Great!
To each their own.
We have so many styles of yoga already and it continues to evolve. *Cough* Goat Yoga? *Cough* So let's keep pushing the boundaries. Create something new and different.
Metal Yoga may not be your thing either and that perfectly fine, but if you want to join us the information is below.
A few weeks ago I made a dream pillow!
Complete with herbs, resins, LOVE and magic.
I only now put together how perfect it really is...
I spent part of St. Patty's day sewing and crafting. (Side note: It was lovely!) I had collected my supplies and sat down to make it happen, when my kitty Jasper decided he REALLY wanted to be involved.
Can we get a little more blogger love going around?
I think so.
Let's dive right into another session of Friday Faves.
Did you catch this article on Mind Body Green yet?
When we're in the thick of things, it's hard to see the blessings/inspirations/etc. that come from it. So often we learn later that the tough stuff is what helps us grow. This is a big one on being that authentic self, which is something I believe we are constantly being "tested" on. Read that as; Constantly given the chance to grow!
Up next, a lovely little post about the importance of Self-Care (Again, Jenn?!).
Well yes, of course again. Here's why....
Do you feel like your stagnating? "Going through the motions"? Can't find the "fun" any more?
Are you depressed or just looking for growth?
Before we get into today's post, Let me clarify, I am NOT a therapist. I am NOT a doctor. Depression is a serious condition and should be discussed with a professional.
Perhaps, the mundane no longer serves you. Perhaps, you're looking for more. Perhaps, you've outgrown something in your day to day and NEED a change.
